ASHLEY Farrant is rarely out of the headlines at the moment and
romped home in the last four races on the card at the Western
meeting at Wadebridge. He had to share the honours in one of those
races though - IamsaidI dead-heated with Sarah Gaisford on Edward
Retter's Bishops Blade in the Restricted.
Farrant's four timer included three winners for David Pipe - Auntie Kathleen in Division Two of the maiden, Colquhoun in the men's open and IamsaidI - and Farrant finished up on a horse he trains himself, Just Sally, owned by Georgie Robarts. Farrant had been denied a nap hand by leading lady rider Polly Gundry in division one of the maiden. She got Flash Point home by a length to beat Farrant on Prioritisation. In the next race Farrant reversed the placings when Auntie Kathleen beat Gundry on the favourite That's My Boy.
Lucy Gardner took the ladies open on Paul Tylor's Guru Rinpoche, a
horse who showed great form at Great Trethew recently. Favourite
Breteche loves the track but was beaten into second place under
Tania Newman and it
The Heard family have had a patch of misfortune with their horses
recently but were back in the winners enclosure on Bill Me Up after
cousin Colin Heard piloted him to victory against two other rivals
in the opening Confined Hunts race.
