Vine & Craven
Hackwood Park
Easter Monday 24th March 2008
by Robin Gray

In spite of arctic conditions and competition from eleven meetings countrywide on point-to-pointing’s busiest day, the Vine & Craven fixture at Hackwood Park attraced 43 runners and some top class racing.

Richard Bandey, Sandhurst Area leading novice rider two years ago scored his fourth success of the season on Another Classic in the Harwood’s Landrover Maiden race.

Bandey survived a spectacular jumping error at the second last fence, going on to win by nine lengths from Noble Profile.

Veteran Godfrey Maundrell rode a double on his own Rhythm King in the Caviste Confined and with Theatre Call in the Members and Farmers race.
