With 126 entries the Pembrokeshire Point to Point at Trecoed on Saturday 5th June is very much worth a visit. The first race, part of six race card, is due off at 2pm. With fifteen possible runners, the opening Members race will be a sample of what will be a day of very competitive racing.
The course is signposted off the A40 by Letterston, near Fishguard and with fine weather forecast it’s a great way to enjoy a picnic and sporting day. The going is being closely monitored day by day to ensure good going, helped by rainfall on Tuesday, a team of water tankers is at the ready if needed.
The West Wales Area Championships are concluded at the meeting, local jockeys, trainers and owners will be keen to seal their various Championship titles along with visitors Jake Greenall and Richard Woollacott journeying down to take on local Pembrokeshire jockey John Mathias, all three are in contention for lifting the National Champion title, every winner will be vital.
Admission for a car and driver is £10 with additional adults £5, children are admitted for free when accompanied by an adult. Bookmakers are in attendance along with refreshments on course. A great day out for all the family to enjoy.
