The beautiful riverside course at Brampton Bryan is being meticulously prepared for Saturday’s (24th) United Pack fixture.
With a dry forecast in prospect, the respected ground team of Wayne Tuffin and Richard Bebbington have been watering for the last week, and with only light showers predicted in the region, will continue to do so.
The preparations have paid dividends, with 168 entries being received for the seven-race card.
“We’re aiming to produce good racing ground,” explained secretary, Roger Tydeman. “Wayne and Richard were much-praised for their efforts at our ’09 fixture, and they are scrupulously painstaking.”
Spectators at the scenic venue will have much to look forward to, with such great performers as Lady Myfanwy, Worship The Stars and the local hero, Hoh Nelson clashing in the Men’s open event.
The first race, the Members, is scheduled for 1.30 pm, where Lorna Brooke will be hoping to gather points for her bid for the area Lady Rider’s title with recent Eyeton winner Chan Bahlum.
Entrance to the course is £10 per person, car park and children under 16 free. The course (SY7 0JT) can be found between Leintwardine and Knighton on the A4113, nine miles north-west of Ludlow.
