Tweseldown
Sunday 11th April 2010

Two meetings lost due to adverse weather – but the Tweseldown executive is confident that the final meeting of the season (on Sunday 11 April) will go ahead with some of the best point-to-point racing in the south of England!
Highlight is the £1,000 Philip Scouller Memorial Mens Open, for which sixteen entries have been made. With a tempting first prize of £500 a double figure field is anticipated and even the fourth to finish will take hope £75. All this is profit since every runner on the day will have the entry fee refunded.
The Fontwell Park sponsored Ladies Open is equally notable since it forms part of the Racing Post Weekender – Brightwells Insurance Order of Excellence series. Thanks to the support of point-to-pointing’s own newspaper and the equine insurance specialist, prize money is effectively doubled, the winner taking home £340.
In addition, the Connolly’s Red Mills Intermediate race has been salvaged from the abandoned March meeting. Winners in this series are qualified for the final sponsored by the popular horse feeds company, at Cheltenham on 5 May 2010.
First of six races is at 2.00 pm. Cars including the driver are charged at £15. Additional adults – £10 and under 16’s are free. Post code is GU52 8DY. Tweseldown is on the B3013 south of Fleet, Bourley Road.
