A mouth-watering clash between top horses Honourable Spider and Bee An Bee is on the cards for Saturday's Penshurst point-to-point on 26th April. Both horses have now recovered from minor setbacks and they are amongst 18 entries for the Men's Open.

Honourable Spider is entered in the Mens Open

With more than 160 horses entered for seven scheduled races and the course in immaculate condition, organisers are expecting a bumper crowd and an action-packed day to make up for the meeting lost to snow earlier this month.

It's also the penultimate fixture for the South East season and there's everything to play for in the championship tables. Stuart Robinson leads the race for the men's title by six points from reigning champion Philip Hall. But while Philip is expecting a quiet day, Stuart rides Bee An Bee (joint leading horse with Nathos), bidding for his fifth win of the season, and chooses from Magnus Veritas, Parzando and Turnstile for the Confined and Intermediate races.

Nick Pearce, whose double at Parham last Saturday put him into second place, rides Super Kay in the Confined, Jack's Present in the Intermediate and Sheriff's Friend in the Open, while Pete Bull, currently third, has either Supa Tramp or Balableu in the Intermediate, Laguna Beach in the Maiden and Honourable Spider in the Open.

The ladies' title is looking good for Heather Kemp, 14 points clear of Cynthia Haydon and Anna Sansom.

Penshurst racecourse is off the B2188, three miles south-west of Penshurst village. The programme starts with pony racing at 12.30, main card at 2.00pm.
Admission is £25 per car, with a concession for single occupancy. Further information is on www.pointingse.com
