The Holcombe Hunt has attracted a bumper entry of 163 for their meeting at Whittington, near Kirkby Lonsdale this Saturday April 19th 2008

Clerk of the course Chris Hodgkinson lists the going as Good with Good to Soft in places on Monday April 14th th 2008.

Racing comes under starters orders at 2.00pm with the Intermediate contest and is set to conclude at 5.30pm with the PPORA Club Members race; this race commemorates the late Angela Beardsworth, who was the entries secretary for the Holcombe Hunt for many years.

Admission to this popular Cumbrian course is £25 per car, regardless of the number of passengers with single occupancy charged at £15.

The Holcombe Hunt stage the Men’s Open for the Mister Tittle Tattle Challenge Cup, the trophy that goes to the winning owner is presented by my namesake Arthur Shone, who owned the course specialist Mister Tittle Tattle. The first horse past the judge will qualify for the £10,000 Volkswagen Toaureg Men’s Championship Final at Towcester on Monday May 12 th 2008. Heading the field of 22 entries is the Julie Kinsey trained Adams Wine, the progressive Hubbly Bubbly gelding has won three races this season, the latest coming at the Flint and Denbigh meeting at Bangor, where he won in a hack canter by 25 lengths from Lord Bush. The principal danger could well be the Cherry Coward trained Sonevafushi, the useful hunter chaser is already a winner between the flags at Witton Castle this season.
