2010 Welsh Borders Area Championship
The Leading Horse Championship in the Welsh Border point-to-point area was a ferocious battle, with four gallant horses tying on equal points at the final fixture. Prize money won then became the deciding factor, and Upton Legend’s victory in the Ludlow Ladies Championship landed her the coveted crown.
Jeremy Mahot just outgunned Rob Hodges for the Rider’s Championship, while Lorna Brooke topped the Ladies table for the second consecutive year.
John Flook joined his uncle Steve’s Shobdon stable at the beginning of the season and has made a real impact, running away with the trophy for the Leading Newcomer.
Stalwart supporter, Peter Corbett has enjoyed a memorable season, clocking up his 100th winner as an owner at Brampton Bryan and taking the Owner’s Championship.
Kimbolton-based Sarah-Jayne Davies was rewarded for all her hard work by taking her first area trainer’s title.
