In my second season training point to pointers, all my horses have ran well and have won or been placed in Points and Hunter Chases. Now looking for more horses for next season. I offer rest and recovery livery at very reasonable rates. So far I have had success with horses that have come out of training under rules due to injury or loss of interest.
Based in beautiful Cheshire countryside in close proximity to the M6 facilities include grass gallops, horse walker, indoor and outdoor schooling arenas, turnout paddocks, schooling and cross country fences, I also have access to excellent 5 furlong all weather gallop.
I competed successfully in show jumping having represented GB at the young rider European Championships three times and winning the National Championships in 1999. I also school and train event horses so horses are always well schooled on the flat and over fences.

I'm looking to expand the number of horses that I train for the forthcoming season.
My facilities include grass and woodchip gallops, schooling fences, all year round turn out and a x-country course around the 400acre farm I train from.
I have been around racehorses all my life. I started exercising them round the roads when I was 5, riding work from the age of 10 and schooling when I was 11. I have also ridden in about 20 races winning 4, including a hunter chase on my 1st ride under rules. I was in the pony club and worked in a Pointing yard in Ireland for a year. I also worked as an assistant trainer to my father for six years gaining valuable experience in both situations.
I have been training Point to Pointers for 4 seasons and have trained 9 winners from 5 different horses.
I like to hunt the horses as much as possible and turn them out daily.

Debby Ewing
Herefordshire

Hazel Court Training Stables.
Debby is a former event rider who now trains point to pointers and hunter chases. We run a small yard (ten stables) as all our horses are trained on the basic principle that they should be supple, athletic, trainable and rideable, whatever their intended career. Having a 'rideable' racehorse allows you to influence his technique both on the flat and over a fence. The more effectively and efficiently a horse jumps and gallops, the more chance he has of winning and of staying sound. Horses that appear to lack scope, or jump badly, that hang left or right etc, only do so for a reason, and with correct riding and schooling these problems can be overcome. We have had considerable success improving the technique of horses with known jumping and straightness problems, and also in bringing horses back to racing after serious injury. WE have our own grass gallop, schooling fences, and all-weather arena. Our training system works well for young horses and for horses that are already in training. It has the added advantage that a well schooled horse has the option of an alternative career when he finishes racing. The way we train is more time-consuming than just sending a horse up the gallops, and requires the rider to feel and to be able to correct what the horse is doing underneath them. But we believe that if you are going to train a horse your aim should be to maximise his potential and therefore his chance of succeeding in life.
Debby found and trained last season's very exciting and promising two times winner, Thompsons Wood.

Ashley Farrant
South West England (Devon & Cornwall, Wessex)

Ashley Farrant's point-to-point yard, at Coldharbour Farm, is located on the edge of Exmoor National Park. The yard is set in a perfect location for all of the South West's tracks and provides an excellent environment for the horses.
In 2004 he broke the record for the number of winners ridden in a season (54 with the backing of David Pipe's yard) and secured the National Point-to-Point Riders Championship. Since deciding to hang his boots up, Ashley has successfully turned his sights to training point-to-point winners in the South West (from first-time out maidens to experienced open horses).
Ashley's training facility, approximately 85 acres in total, of established grassland provides an excellent environment for the horses. The yard, has approximately 18 stables as well as many turnout paddocks, a horse-walker, multiple gallops ensuring that any horse here has the best training that we can possible give it.
If you are thinking of becoming a racehorse owner, then you ought to keep in mind that it includes ... the fun of buying your horse, choosing your colours, watching your horse on the gallops in the early morning light (and rain!), and, of course, the thrill and anticipation of being in the paddock before and after a race. Whether you win or lose, the action is electrifying... it's second to none and you're right in the thick of it.
To find out more about the yard and how to get involved simply contact Ashely on the telephone number below.

Carly Goodall
Midlands/North West

Keen young trainer situated in the quite countryside of Derbyshire, 20 mins from Uttoxeter racecourse and surrounded by numerous Midlands and North Western area point to point tracks. I'm lucky enough to have my own yard which includes 400 acres of grassland, schooling fences, nearby all weather gallops and a horse walker.
In my first season (2004) I trained three winners and five placings which included the North West area championship hunter chase at Bangor on Dee, with a horse that was destined for the knackers yard until i purchased him for next to nothing.
I started off in racing from a young age and have had experiance with John Mackie for 18 months, then went on to Sheila Crow's successful yard for a year, from which I learned most of what I know now. I returned home to start out by myself and now looking for new horses and owners to continue my good start in my training career!

Lucy Goodinson
Herefordshire
We are a small friendly yard where the horses come first (ask the husband!). We aim to produce very fit horses that enjoy their job and achieve this by providing a very varied exercise program. Our horses hack out, work at home on grass and we have a number of all-weather surfaces nearby when the going gets too hard or soft at home. We also keep horses supple and using themselves correctly by doing flatwork in the menage on a weekly basis as their 'day off'. We also loose jump horses regularly and jump them over grids and poles as well as school over our chase fences. All our horses are turned out daily which is an important part of their routine.
Youngsters happily taken to get started and concessions available to those that remain in training for the coming season.

Alan Hill
Oxfordshire
Alan and Lawney train up to 20 horses on their 1,000 acre farm in Oxfordshire. They have extensive grass gallops, a horse walker and the Chiltern Hills at their disposal. They have been training for 15 years and have had plenty of success with all types of horses, from unbroken 4yos to soured-off racehorses from training. Alan was a highly successful amateur for over 20 years and is one of a very few people to have ridden the winners of both the Cheltenham and the Liverpool Foxhunters. He has also won the Liverpool Foxhunters twice; Border Burg in 1987 and Sheer Jest in 1995, which is probably why he supports LFC now! He still says that Elmboy's performance in the 1985 Cheltenham Foxhunters was the most impressive ride of his career. He finished on 98 P2P wins and 48 wins under rules which for someone who had to force his weight down to two stone below his natural weight is quite an achievement! Lawney rode with as much enjoyment but not quite the same level of success, having 47 P2P wins and 5 under rules, but was also Area Champion six times in a hotly contested area. Breaking six collarbones, having many other injuries and having two children did slow her down a bit but not much! For the 2004 season they have a great selection of young horses from last year and older horses coming back, such as stable favourite Mr Snowman who is looking to recapture the form that took him to Aintree in 2001. They are very central for travel and close to London for the commuter to pop in and see their horse. Why not join a highly successful team?

Belinda Keighley
Condicote Stables near Stow on the Wold

With husband Martin granted his public licence in October 2006 the Point to Pointers will now be trained by Belinda who retired from race-riding in 2005 having ridden 10 winners including Bosuns Mate in a Hunter Chase at Sandown. With the use of David Nicholson's uphill woodchip gallop, a mile & a quarter grass gallop, a mile dirt gallop along with acres of extensive old pasture it is particularly ideal for rejuvenating horses. All the horses get turned out in individual paddocks (well wrapped up) daily.
With many of the team having an eventing background, all the horses are well schooled and with Martin having spent time at Cheltenham Racecourse learning the art of fence building, the schooling fences are superb. Martin has trained Prince Dundee to win a race every season since he arrived four years ago (including his 1st winner under Rules in Jan 07) despite having very fragile tendons to the amazement of his vet!
For the Pointers Richard Burton is first choice jockey although owner/riders are very welcome too. The yard is always open to owners who can call in and see their horses, watch schooling and watch work whenever they wish to. Although the aim is always to train winners there is also a huge emphasis on being part of a team and having a lot of fun.

Our facilities include a 60 x 25m outdoor school with a Martins Collins all-weather surface, 2 gallops - one a 6f polytrack on a steady incline and the other a much stiffer 5f woodchip - and a jumping paddock with nursery fences, 3 hurdles, 3 plain fences & an open ditch.
In the 2006 season our runners won or were placed on over 50% of their runs, with only 1 horse failing to achieve at least a place during the season. Our stable star, Another Raleagh, won the £10,000-added Mallard Pawnbrokers Hunter Chase at Leicester and was placed at the Cheltenham Hunter Chase evening meeting, as well as winning or being placed on 6 further occasions between the flags.
New additions to the yard for the 2007 season included Halexy, Pietro Vannucci, Rosemauve and Misty Ramble, bringing the number of horses currently in the yard to 15.
We have vacancies for a further 3 horses for the 2007 season

Jenny Turner
Knightwick Manor, Worcestershire

Keen young lady wanting to be a trainer situated on a farm in the lovely countryside of Worcestershire. I’m 23 and have been at Henrietta Knight’s for 5 years, where I have gained an enormous amount of guidance and experience and the confidence to begin on my own. This is something I have always wanted to do from a very young age. I have now returned home to start out by myself and I am looking for willing owners to give me a chance and to get me on my way. I am looking to start with just a couple of horses so I am able to give them my undivided attention and give them *five-star* treatment and accommodation. I believe in keeping horses happy so living on a 1,000 acre farm would enable me to so. We are also local to an all-weather gallop and schooling fences and a horse walker (me!). Our farm borders on three hunts and is a central location for point-to-points such as Chaddesley Corbett, Upton-on-Severn, Bitterley and Weston Park to name a few, so PLEASE don't hesitate to get in contact.

Tracey Watkins
Herefordshire
I'm a newish trainer to pointing, having for the past two seasons just training our own two horses. From just seven runners we've had four seconds and a third. Two of the seconds have been in hunter chases with a horse that we totally rejuvenated with it being soured in a professional yard. I myself worked in Lambourn for several years when it was a proper National Hunt training centre, both work riding and schooling. I was also in a top yard in Italy for two years. I am now trying to get a couple of outside owners that are willing to take a chance on somebody just starting out.I would welcome Owner/Riders. Your horse would have plenty of varied exercise, first class care and attention, four feeds aday and plenty of turnout, where I'm based it will freshen up the sourest of horses.

Sarah Waugh
Yew Tree Farm, Bishopstrow, Warminster, Wiltshire

Former amateur jockey and Assistant Trainer to the late John Webber and John Edwards, Sarah has herself been training very successfully now for 9 years. Having been sent more horses and hence outgrown her original base on the Somerset/Wiltshire borders, she moved three years ago to just outside Warminster and the winners have continued to come! With a purpose built yard, excellent old turf gallops, schooling fences, horse walker and outdoor arena as well as wonderful riding out on Salisbury Plain and adjacent bridleways, the horses have thrived - a 100% success rate Hunter Chasing last season included Cheltenham and Wincanton, means something must be right! Easy access to all weather gallops and with Larkhill just up the road means the choice of venues for work remains varied and covers all eventualities!
From her Cheltenham winners to the Maidens and the Hunter Chase winners to the owner riders, all are welcomed. With the emphasis on having fun, (the syndicates can be relied upon to be both seen and heard enjoying themselves when their horses run and encouraging the owner riders!) - there are opportunities and something for everyone in this marvellous sport. With many tracks, both Point to Pointing and Hunter Chasing, in easy distance, this has proven to be an ideal base in the heart of South and West Wilts, Avon Vale and RA hunting country from which to send out winners.
Alex Charles-Jones and Rilly Goschen ride the majority of the horses and both schooling and riding work is an experience which the owners (the doors are always open) rarely, if ever, miss!
With very competitive training fees why not join this highly successful and professional team where the emphasis is on results and enjoying the sport.
New owners, new prospects and new challenges are most welcome.

Michaela Williams
Milborne Port, Dorset
We are a small family yard in a lovely part of Dorset, where the care and well-being of the horse is paramount.
Training involves a combination of road, hill and flat work. We believe variation in training helps to keep the horses interested and keen. Enjoyment for horse, trainer and jockey has proven results for our yard this season.
We have just completed our first season, successfully training Vics Pride and Coverdale, both improving on their performances of their previous seasons. Both horses were placed many times and our first win with Coverdale at Ideford Arch proved our approach to training is working. We are already looking forward to next season, and will be returning with an increased yard - also including Perkys Pride and Kayleigh.
We also have facilities to care for race horses in need of box rest, please do not hesitate to contact us for further details.

Tony Woodward
Melton Mowbray,Leicestershire

We are a small yard giving personal attention to each horse and believe in a varied routine and turn out as required. With two horses in training in the 2006 season, we achieved 2 wins and 8 placings from 13 runs and now have room for one or two horses to join our three for 2007. The stables are part of a traditional estate and we are lucky enough to have access to the hundreds of acres of land surrounding us, giving a selection of gallops to keep the horses happy. We also have an all weather gallop and schooling fences to use when required.
We have experience in breaking, schooling and jumping youngsters as well as a history of winning on difficult horses and a spa and water treadmill is available should the need arise.
Win or lose,we believe in having fun and a picnic at the end of the days racing!
