After a really good season with good results, we had two winners, a second, a third and three fourths out of ten runs this season and 4 best turned out, I'm now able to offer a few spaces for next season. We are open to syndicates with either our current horses or if you would like to set up your own, or individuals. I have been in hunting and racing all my life and I was a jockey for twenty years before deciding to train my own. Please feel free to ring and discuss options for the next season. We also offer livery for resting horses and pre training.

Ben Furnival
Shropshire/Powys border
We are a small friendly yard catering for up to 10 horses at any one time.
We put a lot of emphasis on road work and stamina work. With my own 4 furlong all weather canter track, access to Mark Brisbourne's all weather gallop, access to James Unett's 4 furlong all weather gallop and a 10 furlong grass gallop on Long Mountain the horses turn up to the races very fit.
I also have access to miles of hacking. Horses with leg problems will do lots of roadwork; every horse does 6 weeks walking and trotting on the road to harden off their legs before we start cantering.
We like to jump our horses a lot and we have a selection of xc fences around the farm as well as access to 2 indoor schools, an outdoor school and a BE xc course. All just 10 minutes down the road.
Horses can be hunted with any of our 3 local packs of hounds - The North Shropshire, the South Shropshire and the Tanatside.
Our work riders and schooling jockeys have all ridden winners under rules and in point to points. And our jockeys are Ben Furnival, Jeremy Mahot and Jonny Flook.
We also break in horses and pre-train flat and NH horses.
Have a look around our website www.severnequus.co.uk or ring for a chat 01691 839 277. Owner riders welcome.

Miss S.J. Tudor
Kidderminster, Worcestershire
Having been senior staff on racing yards and had a high success rate in my time on the yards I'm now in the position to train pointers with 15 years under my belt and not just in racing eventing too, so with both disciplines in use helps build up a strong agile horse and also with the variety of works stops boredom and sour horses. Happy horses perform to well too.
I place an emphasis on flat work and work over poles, strongly believing horses cannot gallop and jump to the best of their ability unless they are supple, well balanced and using themselves correctly. I am now working with the principle of "quality not quantity," looking to keep the yard relatively small, so horses can be treated as individuals working on more of a one to one basis.
We are a small, friendly yard where owners, riders and staff all work very much as a team.
